During her Wonka press tour, Timothée Chalamet showcased a variety of stylish looks, including rakish shirtless suits and latex overcoats reminiscent of the Matrix. As the eagerly awaited sequel, which has already garnered excellent reviews, opens in cinemas this weekend, Chalamet offers a first look at a limited-edition Nike Dunk Lows that he created and inspired by Wonka.
At the Nike facility in Oregon, Chalamet created these unique Wonka Dunks, taking cues from his clothing from the forthcoming movie and his lifelong love of shoes. The shoes’ burgundy tongue and laces, which are evocative of the chocolatier’s trademark jacket, give them a playful and carefree look. The torso is covered with pastel-colored streaks that are intended to resemble hand-drawn pencil and crayon drawings. A whimsical finishing touch consists of an embroidered cloud, a lightning bolt on the heel, and a yellow cursive “W” on the tongue tag. During public appearances, Chalamet boldly showed amazing shoes with casual attire.
A tribute to the Golden Tickets from “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” a mere five sets of these Dunks were made. They may be obtained by participating in a campaign linked to the Wonka movie. The fortunate collector who gets their hands on a pair will be able to wear them with pride, looking like the timeless version of a gobstopper. We would never presume to speculate on the selling price.
